11-yr-old shot overnight, teen suspect in custody

Baton Rouge Police officers were called out to the Baton Rouge General Mid-city location around 7:30am on Friday, Aug. 26th.

An 11-yr-old child was shot twice in the chest overnight at the Copper Ridge Apartments on N. Lobdell in Baton Rouge.

It’s why officers went to the apartment complex and found a teen suspect hiding. He was taken into custody for questioning. Sources have said the suspect is a young teenager.

There are no further details as to what led to the shooting, if it was an accidental shooting, etc…
