14-year-old arrested after gun found in backpack

BATON ROUGE — A teenager has been arrested after officials say he was found to be in possession of a gun on school grounds.

The EBRSO School Drug Task Force responded to Glasgow Middle School around 10 a.m. in reference to a seventh grader in possession of a gun.

The gun was found in a backpack during a random search, EBRSO officials said.

The student is charged with illegal carry of a firearm on school property and firearm free zone and booked into the juvenile detention center.

No threats were made to any students or anyone.
