BATON ROUGE — A 14-year-old is in custody and facing a murder charge and allegedly shooting and killing a 46-year-old man.
It was around 5:30 p.m. on Monday, May 6, 2024 when Baton Rouge Police officers responded to the 3400 block of Clayton Dr., off of Plank Rd.
Officers say the teenager and Sherderick Jones, 46, got into an argument. That’s when BRPD officers say the teen went and got a gun and allegedly shot Jones one time.
Jones was rushed to a hospital, but died from his injuries.
It’s not clear what specifically the argument was about that led up to the shooting. Baton Rouge Police continue their investigation.
