LIVINGSTON — A 19-year-old man has been arrested after Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office (LPSO) detectives received information that a juvenile teen missing from Indiana was in his home. According to officials, Charles Madgett Jr. had been communicating with a 14-year-old girl online for the past year.
LPSO detectives recently investigated information that said Madgett was housing an underaged girl. Detectives contacted Madgett and say they found the 14-year-old, who was listed as a missing person by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office in Crown Point, Indiana.
Through the investigation, detectives learned that Madgett had allegedly been communicating with the girl through Discord, Snapchat and Twitter (X) for the past year. According to officials, the conversations became sexual in nature, at which point Madgett allegedly requested the girl come to Louisiana.

Per LPSO, the 14-year-old hitchhiked to Louisiana to meet Madgett, who lives with his family. The girl was kept hidden from others in the home for multiple days.
Charles Madgett Jr. was arrested and charged with carnal knowledge of a juvenile. However, after further investigation and evaluation of his cell phone, he was additionally charged with two counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile and 66 counts of child sexual abuse materials.
