Loranger, LA: Early in the morning of Dec. 11, a 24-year-old male was killed in a head-on crash on LA Hwy 445 in Tangipahoa Parish.
Austin Harper, 24, was driving southbound on LA Hwy 445 in a 2014 Volkswagen Jetta, and Justin Scully, 31, was driving north on the highway in a 2009 GMC Acadia. Louisiana State Police investigators believe Scully veered into the other lane and caused the head-on crash
Harper was not buckled and died on the scene from his injuries.
Scully was properly buckled and suffered serious injuries, but he survived the wreck and was taken to a local hospital.
The investigators claim Scully may have been impaired at the time of the crash.
A toxicology test was taken from both drivers, and LSP is awaiting the results.
The two-vehicle crash remains under investigation and charges are still pending.
