24-year-old pedestrian dies in crash

A 24-year-old pedestrian from Loranger died from a car crash in Tangipahoa Parish.

On Dec. 16 near 6:00p.m., Louisiana State Police Troopers investigated a fatal crash involving a pedestrian on LA Hwy 10 near North Jackson Road in Tangipahoa Parish. 24-year-old pedestrian Timothy Warden Jr. of Loranger died in the crash.

The investigation showed a 2017 GMC Yukon was driving eastbound on LA Hwy 10 while Warden Jr. was walking in the roadway.

For unknown reasons, Warden Jr. was struck by the GMC and suffered severe injuries.

He was transported to a local hospital, but he ultimately died from his injuries.

The driver of the GMC was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured.

Impaired is not suspected to be a factor in the crash, but toxicology samples were taken from both people.

This is an ongoing investigation.
