36-year-old arrested, accused of beating woman to death with a walker

BATON ROUGE — A 36-year-old woman has been arrested and charged with murder in connection to a woman beat to death.

It was around 2:45 p.m. on Nov. 2 when officials responded to a home on Riverway Dr. in the Riverbend Landing neighborhood off of Brightside Dr. There, officials found 66-year-old Melinda Reed unresponsive. She had multiple injuries to her head and face and was rushed to a hospital. She did not survive her injuries.

Officials learned that Reed and Denise Law, 36, got into an argument. That’s when Law is accused of hitting Reed multiple times with a metal walker.

Sources tell Unfiltered with Kiran that the two lived together in the home on Riverway Dr. that is considered to be a group home.
