UPDATE: Police now say 6 people were shot and it all stemmed from an argument as everyone was leaving. Police added multiple people shot rounds. Two of the six shot died.

Just before 2am on Saturday, June 19th, Baton Rouge Police officers responded to the 7100 block of Florida Blvd after hearing gunfire.

Upon arrival, they realized the gunfire was coming from what was serving as an overflow parking lot for Capital Park Bar & Grill.

Officers quickly started rendering aid to multiple people. That’s when they realized five people in total had been shot. One died on scene. Another died at a hospital. Two others were transported to a hospital and one victim was transported by a private vehicle.

Officers found multiple shell casings on scene as well as multiple firearms.  The names of the victims have not been released and no further details at this time.
