72-yr-old killed in motorcycle crash in Livingston Parish

LIVINGSTON —- A 72-year-old man from Westwego was killed in a motorcycle crash on Hwy. 22 in Livingston Parish.

It was around 12:30 p.m. when State Police Troopers responded to a motorcycle crash on LA 22 near Haynes Road in Livingston Parish.

The crash ultimately killed 72-year-old Nile Sudo, Jr. of Westwego.

The investigation so far shows that Sudo was driving a 2011 Yamaha XV1900 Raider motorcycle heading west on LA 22.

For unknown reasons, State Police Troopers say that Sudo did not turn into the curve. He then ran into a ditch and hit an electrical pole.

As a result, Sudo was ejected off his motorcycle.

Despite Sudo wearing a DOT-approved helmet, he suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.

A toxicology sample was obtained from Sudo and will be submitted for analysis.

This crash remains under investigation.
