74-yr-old Denham Springs man killed in Livingston Parish crash

LIVINGSTON PARISH — A 74-yr-old man from Denham Springs died in a single-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon.

It was just before 2:00 p.m. on March 21 when Louisiana State Police Troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash on Hwy. 1019 near Amite Church Road in Livingston Parish.

Alex Robeau Jr., 74, of Denham Springs, died in the crash.

The preliminary investigation shows that Robeau was driving north on Hwy. 1019 in a 2014 Chevy Silverado. For unknown reasons, Robeau did not turn into the right hand curve, going off the roadway before hitting two trees.

Troopers say Robeau was not properly buckled. He was transported to a local hospital, but did not survive his injuries.

While impairment is not suspected, standard toxicology samples will be taken and submitted for analysis.
