A 75-year-old Prairieville man died after a vehicle hit him on I-10 near Highland Road on June 4, 2022, according to Louisiana State Police Troopers.
Officials say Nelson Nunez was driving on the interstate when his roof rack broke and some of his items fell into the road. Nunez went to get his things and entered the road in front of an 18-wheeler and was hit.
Deputies say Nunez was transported to a local hospital, where he died.
The big rig driver did not suffer any injuries. The police collected a toxicology sample from the driver and submitted it for analysis.
