BUECHE — An 80-year-old woman lost her life Monday morning in West Baton Rouge crash. She has been identified as Janet Tchorlian of Port Allen.
It was around 9 a.m. on October 6 when Louisiana State Police troopers responded to Hwy. 190 at Bueche Rd. in West Baton Rouge Parish for a two-vehicle crash.
The investigation so far shows that Tchorlian was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Trax south on Bueche Rd. toward Hwy. 190. At the same time, a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado was going west on Hwy. 190, coming up to Bueche Rd. For reasons still under investigation, Tchorlian failed to yield at a stop sign and entered Hwy. 190, directly into the path of the Silverado.
She was struck on the side. She was rushed to a hospital, but did not survive her injuries. She was buckled up. The driver of the Silverado, who was also buckled, had minor injuries.
Routine toxicology samples were taken from both drivers.
