A fire broke out on Dolph St. in New Roads in Pointe Coupee Parish around 7pm on Monday, Feb. 13th.

The home belongs to 91-yr-old Mildred Duhe, who has lived in the home the past several decades.

Unfortunately though, the home is a complete loss now.

As of 9:30pm, firefighters were still battling hot spots at the home in the 8700 block of Dolph St. It’s unknown right now what started the fire, but the fire was so large that it set the home next to it ablaze as well.

Duhe was evacuated out of her home as was the neighbor. Everyone is safe and Duhe does have a place to go for the night.
