BATON ROUGE — Move over, Chip and Joanna—there’s a new design dynamo gracing the screens! Baton Rouge’s very own interior design powerhouse, Arianne Bellizaire, made her highly anticipated debut on ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition last week, bringing her signature style and infectious energy to the beloved home transformation series.
For Bellizaire, this dream opportunity began with a little faith and a lot of hustle.
“I had talked about my goals and dreams, and one of them was to really push myself into being a media personality,” she shared.
With a background in communications and a thriving design career since 2013, it was a natural evolution. When a friend tipped her off about an audition—without revealing which show it was for—Bellizaire took a leap of faith.
“I went through the process not really knowing what the show was. But as I kept moving through different levels of auditioning, lo and behold, it all worked out!”
And work, she did. Filming for Extreme Makeover: Home Edition is not for the faint of heart. The show, famous for pulling off jaw-dropping home transformations in just five days, demands intense coordination, creativity, and endurance. Bellizaire embraced the challenge head-on.
“It was intense, but it was a lot of fun,” she said. “We essentially create a small city at each location to pull off the biggest surprise in the world. It was all hands on deck for me from August through October, flying back and forth every other week. But as hard as it was, it was the most rewarding and exhilarating work I’ve ever done.”
Beyond the stunning home designs, Bellizaire found deeper meaning in the experience.
“The biggest thing I walked away with—and why I really hope we get more seasons—is the importance of community,” she reflected. “In this tech-driven world, we sometimes lose that essence of checking on our neighbors and being there for people in their time of need.”
As the newest designer on the reimagined Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Bellizaire joins an all-star team, including Clea Shearer and Joanna Teplin of The Home Edit, designer Wendell Holland, and homebuilder Taylor Morrison. Together, they craft stunning, functional spaces for families who give back to their communities.
Bellizaire’s rising star doesn’t stop here. The CEO and creative director of her Baton Rouge-based firm, Arianne Bellizaire Interiors, has been recognized in Architectural Digest, Forbes, and House Beautiful for her trend-forward, technology-integrated designs. And while she’s now a household name in home transformation, she’s still welcoming new client projects across the country.
