A family dog is latest victim of BR’s gun violence

A 2-yr-old family pet was shot & killed in Baton Rouge’s increasing gun violence.

Around 11:30pm on Tuesday, June 7th, BRPD responded to a home on St. Katherine Ave. for a shooting.

They found the home and a vehicle parked outside had multiple bullet holes.

Inside the home, the family’s dog took one bullet to the head and died.

Three people were inside the home at the time of the shooting and thankfully, were not injured.

No word yet on what led up to the shooting.

One local nurse spoke to Unfiltered with Kiran a while back on the basis of anonymity. He discussed in detail how people, especially young adults, are resorting to picking up a gun to resolve any arguments, compared to the past.

“It’s blowing my mind at the amount of young adults who have access to guns now on the streets and they don’t even understand the concept of the power that they’re holding or the damage they can cause and the severity of their actions,” said the nurse.
