Accused burglar shot and killed at Mallard Crossing Apartments

BATON ROUGE — The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating the latest homicide in the parish that happened overnight with an accused burglar shot.

It was around 2:30 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 3 when EBRSO deputies responded to a call for shots fired at the Mallard Crossing Apartments on Greenwell Springs Rd.

A person told deputies that his vehicle had been shot in what appears to have been an attempted vehicle burglary. Deputies found a man who had been shot. Sources tell UWK the man shot was allegedly a burglar. He was transported to a hospital but did not survive. His name has not been released at this time.

No arrests have been made at this time and officials are piecing together who shot the man.
