BATON ROUGE — Nearly a year after an elderly woman was killed in a high-speed crash on O’Neal Lane, an arrest has been made. UWK is also uncovering new details about the crash investigation and the arrest of an Addis woman.
East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s deputies arrested Khira Marionneaux, 41, on March 11, charging her with negligent homicide, reckless operation of a vehicle, and violating the maximum speed law.
According to deputies, on April 26, 2024, Marionneaux was driving north on O’Neal Lane around 10 a.m. at a high rate of speed as she approached Centurion Avenue, where an elderly woman was driving.
Arrest records indicate that Marionneaux’s Hyundai was traveling at 92 miles per hour just five seconds before the crash. By the time she struck the victim’s car, she was reportedly going 70 miles per hour, according to court documents.

The posted speed limit on the road is 45 miles per hour.
Using a search warrant, officials accessed and downloaded data from Marionneaux’s Airbag Control Module to determine her speed at the time of the crash. They also noted that she made only “minor steering/braking inputs” before the collision.
After the accident, both women were rushed to the hospital, but the victim died from her injuries shortly after.
Authorities obtained an arrest warrant for Marionneaux in January 2025. She was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on March 11.
