BATON ROUGE — City Police and U.S. Marshals arrested Anthony Thomas Jr., an alleged member of a group, that calls itself ‘Youngin’s Taking Over (YTO).’ This group is affiliated with the Bleeda gang in Baton Rouge.
Baton Rouge Police Special Investigations detectives began investigating Thomas in May after multiple complaints from residents concerned about his alleged involvement in criminal activities.
During their investigation, detectives determined that Thomas may be in possession of a vehicle reported as stolen on May 5th.
Detectives continued their investigation and say they saw Thomas in possession of what appeared to be a Glock handgun, equipped with a machine gun conversion device.
On June 12, officials contacted Thomas at 520 Wooddale Dr., Baton Rouge, and arrested him. After that arrest, officials say they learned that he was allegedly in possession of a gun equipped with a machine gun conversion device.
Thomas was charged with auto theft and possession of a machine gun.
According to officials, he has a previous arrest history that includes: illegal carrying of a weapon, obstruction of justice, distribution of schedule I, domestic abuse battery, and possession of schedule V.
