Hammond man sentenced to 99 years for sexually assaulting woman in her 80s

AMITE, La. — A Hammond man was sentenced to 99 years in prison for sexually assaulting a woman in her 80s who also suffered from dementia, 21st Judicial District Attorney Scott Perrilloux announced.

Ronald Allen, 49, was arrested in March 2020 for allegedly entering the victim’s home under false pretenses. There, investigators say he assaulted the woman.

Investigators say the victim’s family monitored her frequently because of her medical condition, and they were able to alert police.

Allen was convicted by a jury of sexual battery in December. He was sentenced February 2 to 99 years with the department of corrections with at least 50 years to be served without benefits for the felony charge of sexual battery, Perrilloux said.

The victim has since passed away for unrelated reasons, officials said.

Alen pleaded guilty to obscenity in 2008 and again in 2018. Officials also said he pleaded no contest to stalking in 2022.
