Covington Police arrested a man accused of murder after two bodies were found burned beyond recognition in the downtown district.
Police arrested Antonio Donde Tyson, 49, and charged him with two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of second-degree kidnapping.
“This is a very sad day for the City of Covington. We lift up our prayers for the victims, their families, and our community,” said Covington Mayor Mark Johnson in a news release. “We like to think our city is immune from these tragedies, but we are not. I would like to commend Chief Michael Ferrell and the Covington PD for their swift and professional action.”
Police arrived at the scene on the 500 block of East Gibson Street at around 7 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 28.
This investigation is still ongoing, and the identification of the victims has not been determined.
