Arrest made in Donaldsonville homicide

Ascension Parish deputies arrested and charged a man accused of shooting and killing a man in Donaldsonville on Oct.12.

Approximately 8:45 p.m., deputies responded to a shooting at a home on Lessard Street. Deputies found Trevon Henderson, 21, dead from one gunshot wound.

Perry Smith Jr., 33, the suspect in the shooting, stayed at the scene, according to authorities. Perry was also charged with illegal use of weapons.

It is an ongoing investigation.
