Arrest made in Renoir Avenue homicide

Baton Rouge Police detectives made an arrest in connection with a homicide that occurred on June 24, 2022.

According to officials, Kimberly Dean 49, was found dead in her home on Renoir Avenue at around 11 p.m. on June 24.

East Baton Rouge Coroner’s Office conducted an autopsy and ruled Dean died from injury consistent with blunt force trauma.

On July 8, 2022, detectives arrested Lawrence Gaines, 46, for his alleged involvement in Dean’s death. Gaines was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for second-degree murder.
