Pointe Coupee Parish Sheriff Rene Thibodaux said Morris Hollins turned himself into the Pointe Coupee Sheriff’s Office on Monday around 10:45am.

Hollins, who is from New Roads, is accused of shooting three people on Sept. 17th on Delta Place Rd. in New Roads. Two people were shot in the chest and died on the scene according to Sheriff Thibodaux. A third person, who is the father of one of the victims who died, was shot in the hip and rushed to a hospital by AirMed. Sheriff Thibodaux said all the victims and shooter appear to be related but did not specify the relationship.

In West Baton Rouge Parish, officials arrested a suspect on Saturday in connection to the deadly shooting at Raxx Bar & Grill. Because he is only 17, there was a hearing Sept. 20th to transfer Ronald Campbell into adult court.

Now, Campbell, 17, will be charged as an adult with second degree murder and other charges to possibly follow.

District Attorney Tony Clayton serves over both parishes as well as Iberville Parish.

Clayton said he wants a full investigation into Raxx Bar & Grill including any managers/owners and anyone who ID’s the patrons saying minors may have been allowed into the establishment. Clayton added if the investigation reveals any criminal activity, he will pursue charges including a possible shut down of Raxx if deemed necessary.
