Arsonist destroys Baton Rouge home

BATON ROUGE, La – A Baton Rouge home was destroyed by arsonist during an early morning fire on Nov. 22.

The three adults who live at the home escaped safely and no witnesses or firemen were injured. When the fire department arrived, the entire home was engulfed in flames.

The owner called the Baton Rouge Fire Department around 5 a.m., the first unit arrived four minutes later and the fire was under control 20 minutes later.

While the fire department deemed the home as a “total loss,” they were able to protect the neighboring homes from the flames.

The owner suffered a total of $80,000 of loss between the home and its contents.

Once the fire was contained, fire investigators were able to determine the fire was intentionally set making them believe it was an arsonist.
