The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested Sedrick Credit, 43, on Feb. 10th around 6:15pm in the death investigation of Crystal Scott.
Scott’s body was found stuffed in a plastic container on Jan. 28th in Ascension Parish around 5pm by a group of people “dumpster diving.”
Officials initially said they were searching for three persons of interest for questioning. Ladarrius Alverez, AKA Deezy, 33, turned himself into authorities.
Now, APSO officials say new evidence has surfaced pointing to Credit as a suspect in the case with additional charges.
Credit is charged with unlawful disposal of remains, failure to seek assistance and obstruction of justice.

Ashley Simoneaux remains a person of interest.
Through further investigation, Ascension Parish Sheriff’s detectives learned that Crystal Scott was last seen with two people, Sedrick Credit and Ashley Simoneaux. An autopsy report for Scott indicated no signs of trauma. Scott’s cause of death is still under investigation. Detectives are awaiting the results of a toxicology report.
Meanwhile, Scott’s family said they do not have the funds yet to have a funeral for her. It’s why they’re holding a benefit fundraiser on Saturday, Feb. 12th. They also have an account set up in Scott’s honor.
