GONZALES — Charges are pending for a 37-year-old man after he’s accused of stabbing his partner before leading officers on a chase through Ascension Parish.
It was around 3 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18th when Ascension Parish deputies responded to a residence on Hwy. 42 in Prairieville. At the scene, officials found a woman suffering from an apparent stabbing wound to the neck, UWK has learned.
That’s when the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office issued a BOLO (be on the lookout) for the suspect, Carmille Anderson, 37, and a silver Chevy Equinox.
A little while later around 4:30 p.m., a Gonzales Police officer spotted the vehicle and tried to pull over the driver. Instead, the driver is said to have led multiple officers on a pursuit on Burnside Ave. (Hwy. 44), all while hitting parked vehicles and hitting a police car pursuing him.
The driver did finally come to a stop, but at the scene, he’s said to have stabbed himself multiple times. It’s why he too is in the hospital now.
Once released, he will be facing multiple charges.
