The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested two people in connection to a body that was found stuffed in a container on Jan. 31, 2022. The victim was identified as Crystal Scott.

Deanne Garret, 45, and Denyer Garrett, 53, were arrested on Saturday, April 16, 2022 in connection to Scott’s murder. Both are charged with unlawful disposal of remains.

On Friday, Jan. 28, deputies responded to a call regarding a deceased woman’s body found inside a plastic storage container on a property along Rue De Le Bois Rd. in Prairieville. Later, deputies identified the body as Crystal Scott.

During their investigation, detectives arrested Sedrick Credit, 43, who was last seen with Scott.

He was charged with unlawful disposal of remains, failure to seek assistance, and obstruction of justice.

Following Credit’s arrest, detectives learned he visited Deanne and Denyer Garrett’s home, who allegedly assisted Credit with the disposal of Scott’s remains.
