Ascension requesting help with finding alleged thieves

The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s help in identifying and locating two men caught on surveillance video allegedly stealing.

The incident happened on July 26th at the Lowe’s in Gonzales on Airline Hwy. around 5:50pm.

Officials said a Honda self-propelled lawn mower, worth $549, was stolen.

The two men went to the Lowe’s in a U-Haul truck according to officials. They then entered the store separately, and the white man is accused of stealing the lawn mower. Officials said he then walked to the U-Haul in the parking lot before calling a friend.

A third unknown suspect arrived in the white Chevrolet pickup with an unknown license plate (his picture was not available). The two white men loaded the lawnmower into the back of the white pickup, according to officials.

The black male then exited the store and got into the back of the white pickup before being dropped off at the U-Haul truck. Both vehicles then left the parking lot and turned right onto LA Hwy 44.

Both men are wanted for misdemeanor theft charges.

Anyone with any information is asked to call the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office anonymously at 225-621-4636 or by texting 847411 to their anonymous tip line from any cell. You can also call Crime Stoppers at 344-STOP.
