DONALDSONVILLE — A 17-year-old high school student is behind bars after deputies say they found a ‘kill list’ on him.
Ascension Parish Sheriff’s deputies started investigating on Monday, May 18 after responding to a report of ‘improper communication regarding a list.’ APSO said the list found on the student was considered a ‘kill list’ threatening harm toward several students at Donaldsonville High School.
Kyle Sanchez, 17, a student at Donaldsonville High, was arrested from his home and is now behind bars at the Ascension Parish prison, charged with one count of terrorizing.

During the investigation, Sanchez admitted to deputies that he did create the list in the past but said he had no plans to carry out the threats.
Message sent to parents:
Dear Donaldsonville High Parents,??Late Monday night, we were made aware of a social media post in which a student made a threat. We immediately contacted the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office, and an investigation was conducted in coordination with our school and district leadership.??As a result of this investigation, the student is facing appropriate disciplinary and legal consequences. The student has not been on campus since the situation was reported.??The safety and security of our students and staff remain our highest priority. We take all threats seriously and will act quickly and decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for everyone.??We appreciate the partnership of our families and community in reporting concerns and helping us maintain safe schools. If you ever see or hear something concerning, please report it immediately to school administration or local law enforcement.??Thank you for your continued support.
