The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that happened outside of a gas station on Highway 73, near I-10.
There were no shooter(s) or victims at the gas station when the deputies arrived at the scene of the Ascension Parish shooting. Upon further investigation, detectives learned one woman was hit by the gunfire.
The sheriff’s office says the female victim was not at the scene by the time first responders arrived, and they say she is receiving medical attention from a nearby hospital.
The investigation is ongoing and more information is not known at this time.
