ASCENSION — A Prairieville woman was sentenced to 26 years for two counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile and two counts of felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile. After she has served her sentence, she will also need to register as a sex offender, according to the 23rd Judicial District Attorney’s Office.
On Sept. 22, Leeann Yammarino pleaded “no contest” to two counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile and two counts of felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile. She was recently sentenced to serve 10 years for each carnal knowledge charge and three years per indecent behavior charge (26 years total).
All of the sentences are to run consecutive to each other and Yammarino is granted credit for time served, per the DA’s office. She will also need to register as a sex offender or child predator for a period of 15 years once she is released from jail.
Yammarino was arrested back in July 2024 by the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office. She was charged at that time with two counts felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile and four counts indecent behavior with a juvenile.
Detectives began investigating Yammarino after a 15-year-old young man told deputies that he and Yammarino had allegedly had sex twice. During their investigation, APSO detectives learned that Yammarino also allegedly sent the victim and three other teenagers, between the ages of 14-16, lewd images and videos of herself.
Yammarino’s sentencing was deferred to a later date pending a pre-sentencing investigation.
