LABADIEVILLE— A 20-year-old Labadieville man, Lance Gaspard, was arrested Monday after allegedly leading deputies on a dangerous high-speed motorcycle pursuit along LA 1.
According to the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office, Lance Joseph Gaspard was spotted by a deputy driving south on LA 1. The deputy noticed Gaspard standing on his motorcycle, arms extended, while moving at high speeds. The deputy attempted to stop the motorcycle concerned about the man and others on the roadway. Instead of pulling over though, Gaspard fled. That’s when a tense pursuit started that stretched into Lafourche Parish.
During the chase, Gaspard reportedly pushed his motorcycle to speeds of over 105 miles per hour, weaving in and out of traffic. The deputy continued the pursuit, staying close behind Gaspard as they crossed parish lines.
Eventually, Gaspard decided to surrender, pulling over and stopping the motorcycle without further incident. He was arrested and identified as Lance Joseph Gaspard, a resident in Labadieville.

Gaspard remains in custody at the Assumption Parish Detention Center, awaiting a bond hearing.
