PORT ALLEN — The West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who allegedly placed a skimming device on an ATM at a Port Allen credit union.
Officials released photos of the suspect at the ATM in hopes someone can identify him.
Investigators say that on July 2, shortly after 9:30 p.m., the man installed an ATM skimming device on the drive-up ATM at Neighbors Federal Credit Union on Casa Loma Plaza. On July 6, around 9 p.m., the same individual allegedly returned and removed the device.
Several members later reported unauthorized charges and compromised debit cards, alerting Neighbors to the incident. Sheriff Jeff Bergeron urges anyone who used this ATM to carefully review their bank statements for suspicious activity.
