Attempted robbery leads to man shot & killed

BATON ROUGE, La: The Baton Rouge Police Department is investigating an attempted robbery that led to the city’s latest homicide.

21-year-old Timothy Chapman was shot just before 7:30pm on Monday, Dec. 19th in the 10500 block of Florida Blvd. in Baton Rouge. BRPD said Chapman was shot during an attempted robbery.

Officials say at the time of the shooting, Chapman and a passenger were about to be robbed when the shooting happened.

He was shot in the parking lot of an apartment complex on Florida Blvd.

He died from his injuries. His passenger survived.

The suspect is unknown at this time.
