Autopsies completed on Manuel couple in White Oak Trace

The autopsies into the Manuel couple in the White Oak Trace neighborhood have been completed.

On Monday, Jan 9th, a relative went to check on the husband and wife at their home on Indigo Ridge Ave. and that’s when the two were found dead. The deceased were identified as Coby Manuel, 59, and his wife, Janell Manuel, 59.

The coroner’s report shows the cause of death for Janell is from “blunt and sharp force injuries and strangulation,” while her husband died from a gunshot wound to the head.

The manner of death is pending further investigation.

The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office is investigating their deaths. Officials have speculated the deaths to be a murder-suicide but since the tragic incident, no further details have been released officially.
