The West Feliciana Sheriff’s Office reports a 2-yr-old girl was found by family members in a pond near a home.
It happened about 6:30pm near 9798 Hwy 61 in St. Francisville.
WFSO deputies arrived first on scene and began CPR. EMS arrives shortly afterward and began life saving measures while en route to the West Feliciana Hospital.
WFH ER staff continued attempts to revive, but the toddler was pronounced dead by ER staff.
The little girl’s name has not been released yet.
