Baton Rouge: 41-year-old killed in deadly crash

BATON ROUGE — State Police troopers are investigating a deadly crash that happened Wednesday night in the Monticello area in East Baton Rouge Parish.

Shortly before 10:00 p.m. on May 8, 2024, troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Greenwell Springs Rd. and Monticello Blvd.

Patrick George Isadore, 41, of Baton Rouge, died in the crash.

The preliminary investigation revealed Isadore was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe north on Greenwell Springs Rd. when he came up to a red light at the intersection of Monticello Blvd. At the same time, a 2021 Chevrolet Malibu was headed south on Greenwell Springs Rd. and was attempting to make a left turn onto Monticello Blvd.

For unknown reasons, Isadore did not stop at the red light and hit the right side of the Malibu. After the crash, the Tahoe rotated and overturned.

Isadore, who was not buckled at the time of the crash, was partially ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.

The driver of the Malibu, who was also unrestrained at the time of the crash, had moderate injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

Impairment is unknown at this time, but troopers did take standard toxicology and submitted them for analysis.

This crash remains under investigation.
