BATON ROUGE — Insurance company Allstate released its 2025 Best Drivers Report, which ranks the safest and riskiest cities to drive in, and Baton Rouge landed toward the bottom of the list.
Allstate analyzed auto insurance claims in the 200 most populated cities to create the report. Baton Rouge took the 159th spot, dropping 14 spots since 2015. New Orleans ranked even lower than Baton Rouge, at 168, and Shreveport is the only Louisiana city in the top half of the list at number 49.
Allstate examined the average years between collisions and the relative collision likelihood compared to the national average to determine the results. In Baton Rouge, the average time between crashes is 7.66 years, and you’re 37.8% more likely to get into a crash.
Brownsville, TX ranked first on the list as having the safest drivers, while Boston ranked last, with a 244% chance of getting into a crash.
