Baton Rouge: Christmas Day crash on Interstate 110 leaves one dead

BATON ROUGE — City police are investigating a deadly crash on Interstate 110 that happened on Christmas Day in Baton Rouge.

It was around Noon on Interstate 110 southbound near the 22nd Street overpass. Police say the driver of a Toyota 4Runner was headed south when he lost control of his vehicle.

Isaiah Garnett, 19, died in the crash.

BRPD says Garnett was approaching the curve in front of the governor’s mansion when he lost control of his SUV. The SUV went off the right side of the interstate, hit the raised berm and concrete retaining wall leading to his vehicle overturning.

Garnett died on the scene.
