BATON ROUGE — City police officers have now identified the victims of a double shooting in which two people have died inside an apartment complex in Baton Rouge. Baton Rouge Police confirms the shooting was a domestic violence incident.
It was just before 11 a.m. on Wednesday when officers responded to the 12000 block of Newcastle Avenue for reports of a man shot. That’s the Afton Oaks Apartments off of S. Sherwood Forest Blvd.
At the scene, a man was found dead inside an apartment. Officials also say they found a woman deceased at the scene.
They have been identified as 33-year-old Averia Arceneaux and 29-year-old Johvon McKinley.
At this time, no details have been released into what led up to the deadly double shooting in Baton Rouge.
