BATON ROUGE —- Baton Rouge Police have arrested two people in the double shooting on Sunday, March 23 that killed one person. Two 15-year-old male suspects were arrested on Thursday for first-degree murder and other charges.
The shooting happened around 4:45 p.m. on Sunday, March 23 in the 4300 block of Monroe Ave. That’s near Choctaw Dr. between N. Foster Dr. & N. Acadian Thruway.
Two people were shot. One of them died inside a vehicle. He has been identified as 22-year-old Jalen Lee while another person was transported to a hospital for their injuries.
Although officials originally said that the second victim was a male, the victim has now been identified as a 21-year-old female.
There is no update as to her condition, but she was listed as critical on Sunday night.
Both 15-year-old shooting suspects were booked into the Baton Rouge Juvenile Detention Center for charges of first degree murder, attempted first degree murder and illegal use of a weapon.
One of the suspects has a criminal arrest history of armed robbery, officials reported.
