Baton Rouge man killed in hit-and-run

Baton Rouge man found dead in Lafayette on July 4 was hit by a car, according to police.

Christopher Smith, 37, was found on the 200 block of W. Gilman Road.

Officers received a call at 3:20 a.m. of a person laying in the road unresponsive. Police are investigating it as a hit-and-run fatality, according to a police spokesperson.

Anyone who has any information is urged to contact the Lafayette Police Department or Lafayette Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
