BATON ROUGE —- Officers are investigating a deadly stabbing that left one person dead.
It was around 9:30 p.m. on Dec. 2nd when Baton Rouge Police officers responded to the Lakeside Villas apartments on Weldwood Dr. That’s off the Millerville exit in the city.
At the scene, officers found a man dead in the parking lot, apparently from multiple stab wounds. The man has been identified as 44-year-old Robert Gibson.
According to BRPD, two people allegedly involved in the incident were detained early in the investigation. They were brought to the East Baton Rouge Parish Violent Crimes Unit and questioned.
In the investigation, detectives learned that the incident was domestic, and that Gibson was the ex-boyfriend of the woman officials detained. Detectives learned that Gibson was allegedly beating the woman when she said she grabbed a knife and stabbed him.
