Baton Rouge pedestrian killed in car crash

BATON ROUGE — Louisiana State Police are investigating a single-vehicle crash involving a pedestrian that killed a Baton Rouge resident Wednesday morning.

Officials say the crash happened shortly after 5:30 A.M. on LA 30 near Ben Hur Road.

State police says the preliminary investigation revealed a Dodge Charger was headed north on LA 30 and for reasons still under investigation, Quentin Brown, 41, walked across the lane and the Charger hit him.

Officials say Brown died at the scene. He was wearing dark-colored clothing at the time of the crash. The driver was properly restrained and did not suffer injuries.

As part of the ongoing investigation, a toxicology sample was obtained from the pedestrian and driver and will be submitted for analysis.  This crash remains under investigation.
