BATON ROUGE — A possible road rage incident may have led to a double shooting Sunday evening that left a 43-year-old man dead and a woman hospitalized.
The call came in just before 7 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 15, from the area of Goodwood Boulevard and South Flannery Road, near Old Hammond Highway. Officers responded to reports of a shooting.
At the scene, two people had been struck. A man, identified as 43-year-old Joshua Young, died at the scene. A woman was transported to a hospital.
So far, Baton Rouge Police say their investigation indicates the shooting may have stemmed from a road rage incident. According to BRPD, Young was driving a black pickup truck that was struck by another vehicle. Police say the other driver fled after the crash.
Investigators say Young then followed the fleeing vehicle, and the shooting occurred shortly afterward.
Police do not have any suspects at this time.
This shooting happened nearly four hours after another deadly shooting on Sharp Lane.
