BATON ROUGE — The Baton Rouge Police Department was searching for a missing man last seen near downtown early Wednesday morning.
Jody Bert, 44, was last seen in the downtown area around 12:45 a.m. on March 22, BRPD said in a Facebook post.
UWK has learned that Bert, a Native American, was traveling with his wife and kids and decided to check-in to a downtown Baton Rouge hotel for the night.
Sources say Bert pulled up to the hotel, took his family up to the room and then said he would go park the car in a nearby garage and be back. That was the last time he was seen.
His vehicle was found with his phone and wallet inside, leaving officials to believe he was not robbed. Sources have added Bert stopped for the night due to a medical issue, possibly psychological.
Bert is described as 6′ tall and 220 pounds. He has short hair, several tattoos on his left arm, and police believe he was last seen wearing blue jeans, a dark colored hoodie and red and white Adidas shoes.

That was my first thought. Missing in BR is becoming very common.
It happens much more often than reported in the media. Unfortunately with as much crime as we have no one cares.

dig deeper on this one. I’m curious if they have proof Jody was ever actually in BR. I could absolutely drive to BR right now with my husbands wallet and phone, check into a hotel, then say he was missing.
What ever happen to the news on the missing man who left his family at a downtown hotel to park his car? He isn’t getting no where near the coverage the Georgia business man did!
