Baton Rouge: Prairieville woman killed in I-10 motorcycle crash

BATON ROUGE —- A Prairieville woman died in a crash on Interstate 10 on Saturday.

Shortly after 12:00 p.m. on May 18, 2024, Louisiana State Police troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 10 eastbound just before Siegen Lane.

Juanita Z. Linton, 61, of Prairieville, died in the wreck.

The investigation so far shows a 2023 Honda motorcycle, driven by Linton, was traveling eastbound on Interstate 10 just before Siegen Lane in the left lane.

At the same time, a 2024 Ford Bronco was also driving eastbound on Interstate 10 in the left lane and in front of Linton.

For reasons still under investigation, Linton ran into the back of the Ford Bronco, according to State Police.

Linton was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, but still had serious injuries. She was transported to a hospital, where she died from her injuries.

While impairment is unknown, troopers say standard toxicology samples were taken and submitted for analysis.

The driver of the Bronco was properly buckled at the time of the crash and was not injured. This crash is still under investigation.
