EAST BATON ROUGE —- Deputies are currently looking for a gunman after a deadly shooting late Saturday morning.
It was around 11:45 a.m. when witnesses tell UWK they heard multiple shots fired. The baseball fields at Traction Sports are nearby the shooting location with many attending hearing all the gunshots. Witnesses tell UWK that both tournament players and parents started running when the shots rang out.
The shooting itself happened in the 8600 block of Old Hermitage Parkway. One person was hit and has since died from their injuries. East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s deputies are investigating the deadly shooting.
UWK has learned the gunman is on the run with deputies actively searching for them.
This deadly shooting comes after three shootings Baton Rouge Police officers responded to on Friday night.
