BATON ROUGE — Baton Rouge Police Armed Robbery detectives have arrested three people in connection with an armed robbery earlier this month.
It happened on August 4 in the 4100 block of Prescott Road. According to police, the victims were driving when the driver dropped his phone between the seat. When he pulled over to grab it, three people came out of a nearby home with guns and allegedly ordered everyone out of the vehicle.
The suspects ran back inside after the robbery, where investigators say a woman, later identified as Tniya Bass, let them in. The victims were able to give police descriptions of the three people and the items stolen.
Detectives later identified Timothy Tyler Jr., Timothy Courtney, and Tniya Bass as suspects. The victims picked Tyler and Courtney out of a photo lineup, and police issued arrest warrants.
On August 20, investigators spotted the three suspects outside the Prescott Road home and tried to pull over their vehicle. The group took off, but officers eventually stopped them at the Pine Square Apartments on Dougherty Drive.
Bass was arrested on the spot. Police say Tyler and Courtney ran into an apartment without permission, but officers later found them with a search warrant.
Tniya Bass is charged with accessory after the fact and resisting an officer.
Courtney and Tyler are charged with armed robbery, using a firearm, resisting an officer, and unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling.
