Baton Rouge: 4-yr-old drowns at apartment pool | 3-yr-old sibling in critical condition

BATON ROUGE —- Two children were rushed to a hospital, one did not survive after a drowning while the other is in critical condition.

The drowning happened around 7:15 p.m. at the Regency Apartments on Southfork Dr. That’s off of S. Sherwood Forest Blvd.

EBRSO says two siblings, a four year old girl and three year old boy, left out their apartment while their mother was asleep, found the pool and fell in the water. They were later found by family in the pool.

Both children were rushed to Children’s Hospital in Baton Rouge in critical condition. The four year old did not survive, while the three year old is alive and in critical condition.

*Editorial Note: UWK did originally report both children died in the drowning. That has since been corrected to reflect the most updated information.
